So I don’t live in Chicago anymore, not since October. But I did a search of my old address, and found pretty much what I expected. A few thefts from the 24-hour Jewel that I could see from my window, a recent five-star review of my favorite cafe in the neighborhood (my friend Beth and I used to call it Europe because it reminded us of it). I saw my old apartment building had yet another condo for sale, probably including my old condo, which can’t have been sold because it’s a s—thole. Burglary and assault also appear to be popular crimes in addition to theft. Did I forget to mention my old apartment is right by the Clark/Division Red Line? That could be part of the reason..
